The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are focusing on finding solutions to chronic pain in veterans. Twelve research projects will be funded, several of which have been awarded.

Prolonged Sitting Can Trigger Flares of Acute Low Back Pain
This study found that “prolonged sitting (>6 hours) and stress or depression triggered low back pain flare-ups. Physical therapy was a deterrent of flare-ups.”
